Designed for splitting chunks of wood, “rounds”. The large splitting axe, with 2.4Kg head, 8cm face & 70cm handle, is a superb general-purpose firewood maker. A steel sheath beneath the head reinforces the handle against impact with the wood. Note this axe’s poll is not hardened for use as a sledge.
The axe is provided with a grain-leather sheath with snap fastener.
