A beautiful example of a French chimneypiece from the Rococo period: around 1750. It displays the sinuous lines that characterise the movement of Rococo design. Manufactured in white marble, the execution of this chimneypiece with its free form carving is a test of the carver’s art. Shown here with the Cadogan fire basket and black slate hearth.
